Who is behind Peaceful Sundays Tutoring?

Hi, I'm Ginny!

I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching for 15 years. I have taught in mainstream and home education settings as well as spending a great deal of my career in special school settings.

Why tutoring?

After leaving the classroom and working to support a family within a home education setting I decided that whilst I loved working with children in schools I particularly enjoyed working with them in  small group and 1:1 settings.

I had tutoring for my GCSEs and A Levels and I found the experience invaluable at helping me pick up and retain information which I couldn't from just classes alone.

I found that tutoring can really help children to learn as they are having specialised support which helps to build knowledge and confidence.

Why the name Peaceful Sundays Tutoring?

The name Peaceful Sundays Tutoring was born from the idea of not having that Sunday night dread or the tantrums before bedtime because of having to go to school the next day. My aim is to build the confidence of the children that I work with so that they are not worried about going to school and are able to access the their learning effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at peacefulsundaystutoring@mail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Tutoring works as a top up to what has been learnt in the classroom. It can help to go over concepts in a 1:1 setting outside of the hustle and bustle of the classroom. Children have the freedom to ask questions without feeling embarrassed and a feeling of safety enabling them to make mistakes and give things a go.

Sessions are booked in blocks of 4 or 6 weeks blocks and paid for upfront.

Over my 15 years of teaching I have worked with a lot of children with a range of needs and what I have learnt is that all children are individuals- no two children with the same diagnosis are the same. Therefore I tailor all my sessions to the needs of each child. If children need movement breaks, sessions based around specific interests, practical sessions, games, or computer based sessions- then that is what they shall have! I will talk to the parents, as the expert on their child as well as the child themselves to work out the best way forward.
